E-Health Reporter Latin America Was Present at the Hospitalar 2013 Fair

1250 exhibitors from Brazil and overseas were able to exchange knowledge, exhibit new products, make deals and establish contacts with new customers from across the world. Argentina, the USA and Italy were lauded for having participated since the Fair began in 1993.

In its 20th edition, the Hospitalar 2013 Fair was held at the Norte Expo Center in Sao Paulo, an 82 thousand square meter space. In addition, this annual health industry event provided a chance for different international companies seeking business opportunities to build links with Brazilian and foreign institutions from a wide variety of segments in the sector. 

The 1250 exhibitors from Brazil and overseas were able to exchange knowledge, exhibit new products, make deals and establish contacts with new clients from across the world. 

The 2013 edition hosted 615 foreign exhibitors from 37 countries, making the connection between Brazil and the rest of Latin America clear. Argentina, the United States and Italy were the three countries honored at a commemorative ceremony for having been present since the first edition in 1993. Companies who participated in the event every year were also recognized.  

During the fair, presentations were made on experiences and news from several different sectors related to health and technology and products and services related to ICTs, telemedicine and telehealth stood out notably in this edition: the area designated for companies that supply these products grew by 15% compared to last year.

EHealth Reporter Latin America: What new products are Cerner presenting at Hospitalar and what are your projections for Latin America?

Marcos García: We want to contribute to improved administration of hospitals and healthcare in general with Cerner’s tools and solutions.

The company is American but has a major presence in Europe and Asia. Most of Cerner’s employees are located outside the United States. In Latin America, although we have a small number of clients at the moment, we can see that there is very great interest in our technology.

Client Executive

Leading U.S. supplier of healthcare information technology solutions seeks Client Executive for Sao Paolo, Brazil area.

Description of the Role: The Client Executive is responsible for identifying, qualifying and selling Cerner software solutions to potential and/or existing clients in Brazil. You will be also responsible for the following key sales activities: territory management (including pipeline maintenance and territory analysis), initiating and maintaining client relationships, client presentations and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of competitors.

The Hospitalar Digital Heath seminar took place during the twentieth edition of the Hospitalar fair in Sao Paulo.

The event, which was aimed at healthcare and municipal planning professionals debated the value to the professional of remote technologies and education in the sector.

The session on technological resources was aimed at demonstrating the solutions that already exist as well as different ways of implementing them. The development manager José Bruzadin presented Intel’s solutions for telemedicine and telehealth, noting that “every country has the same challenge today: to provide healthcare solutions anywhere at any time.”

Philips

The pioneering integrated solutions company brought equipment that can facilitate patient transitions from hospital to home care. They also presented integrated solutions for Intensive Care Units. “Philips connectivity and systems integration solutions can improve the rate of correct diagnoses,” said SolangePlebani, director of Philips Clinic Informatics. Furthermore, through TASY management software connected to equipment, Philips offers solutions for the entire patient care cycle.
